
James Schuessler
Mr. James “Jim” Schuessler is currently serving as the Interim President and CEO of Seton Medical Center and Seton Coastside. Mr. Schuessler most recently served as CEO of Savoy Medical Center in Mamou, Louisiana. Prior to his engagement at Savoy, he served as President & CEO at St. John’s Medical Center in Jackson, Wyoming.
As a 40-year healthcare executive veteran, Mr. Schuessler brings with him a proven track record of successful hospital leadership. He has led multiple large and small hospitals and health systems throughout the United States and made significant contributions including the successful financial turnaround of a struggling $87 million special hospital district that included an acute care hospital, residential nursing facility and home health/hospice program. Additionally, Mr. Schuessler served as President of Harrod-Schuessler & Associates, a consulting firm that specialized in strategic planning, leadership, and governance advisory services to clients in healthcare, technology, service and engineering sectors.
Mr. Schuessler is a veteran Officer of the United States Army Medical Services Corps and was awarded three bronze star medals and a Purple Heart for his years of service. He holds a Masters in Health Care Administration from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. and a Bachelor of Science and Distinguished Military Graduate from Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania.
